Poison The Well - Distance Only Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Good Life, 1998, CD, Vinyl

So many bands came and went playing this style of music in the last decade or so. This business where there are these heavy, metallic, downtuned stacato riffs, melodic lead riffs and then some guy screaming and either the same guy or another guy singing. This is one of the early pioneers of this style on this, the band's first EP. It has the passion and intensity and rawness that a lot of more over-produced records missed. It's the sound of broken hearts and wandering loneliness crying out to the night sky. "Torn" is particularly memorable.
