Om - Advaitic Songs

Drag City, 2012, CD, Vinyl

Nobody talks about god anymore. It's become offensive to mention the "g" word.

You'd be better off going to a dinner party and saying "now I'm going to talk about cunt"

I'm telling you it would be less offensive.

So there are these other terms getting flung about now by all these people in the west just and so they don't come across like some very uncool person.

Anyway I don't know what to make of this band anymore.

I can't decide if it is pretentious or whether it rules.

I think it rules.

It's how they create a mood and build it up into some stoner sludge eastern headfuck.

Often it's getting on for just some middle eastern folk instrumental but then the drums and monster bass comes in and those robotic vocals.

You can't really argue with that. God or no god.
