Bury Your Dead - Its Nothing Personal

Victory, 2009, CD, Vinyl

That's it now - no more records from Victory after 2001 on this site anymore. Nobody comes here anyway.

I just can't get into any of these modern bands since about 2003 in this metal/emo/punk/emo/mall music style. I'm too old. I'm too much of a metal dinosaur to get into any of this.

At age 8 I was listening to Def Leppard.

At age 10 I was listening to Iron Maiden.

At age 13 I was listening to Slayer.

At age 15 I was listening to Slayer.

By adulthood I was smearing myself in corpse paint listening to Burzum while naked in the woods at the back of my college.

Seriously though, I just can't relate to these bands.

There are too many things going on in this super-well-produced, polished sound. To me it's more like some idiosyncratic US-based pop music trend than anything relating to authentic sounds of rebellion.
