Zao - The Splintered Shards The Birth Of Separation

Solid State, 1997, CD, Vinyl

In the UK there is no Christian metal or Christian hardcore. Ever. Nobody is passionate about religion and hardcore simultaneously. It's never happened. In the US it happened a lot. Some good bands like Zao, Strongarm and Overcome got made. I don't know what's going on there sometimes, anything is possible in some states.
At one point I thought Zao was the best thing I had ever heard. This heavy brutal metalcore with melody. All the right parts, all the stuff from the Florida sound of the late 90s. All well produced and well made and probably a big melee of bodies piled up when they play live.
The thing is though, you could be a Christian and be depressed because you liked Slayer and thought that god would not like Slayer. If I was god, I would not like Slayer probably. I would like Vangelis. This much is obvious. If you doubt this... you don't understand God, Slayer or Vangelis. So anyway, you could come out of your crisis by just getting into Zao and knowing that God approves.
