Spirit Of Youth - Colours That Bleed

Goodlife, 1998, CD, Vinyl, Coloured Vinyl

This is a H8000 band that was active in the 90s. They released records on Crucial Response, Sober Mind and Goodlife as well as a split with

One King Down on Equal Vision.

It's quite a good record. It has this like groove that these H8000 bands had. It's quite different to US bands in some ways. I can't really describe

why, it's more the style of it and the vocals. Perhaps also these like metal licks the guitarists use sometimes make it sound different from a lot of US hardcore from the 90s.

I realise now the production and the sophistication of these bands is better but nothing can replace the spirit and the vibe here.

To me this is as good as any shit I have heard in the last decade.
