Burnt By The Sun - Soundtrack To The Personal Revolution

Relapse, 2002, CD, Vinyl

When I was sick of Nu-metal because it was a circus I wanted to hear some properly heavy bands. No one else seemed to be that bothered but I wanted to. There were these bands like Wil Haven, Coalesce, Converge, Integrity that I knew about and even death metal and grindcore bands but I wanted like just brutal, heavy metal. So I came across Relapse eventually...

BURNT BY THE SUN

THE LUDDITE CLONE

It was like all my birthdays at once.

Burnt By The Sun play this heavy, pulverising metal. Absolutely brutal with influences of other metal styles but just a heavy, juggernaut of destruction. An absolute collosus. Nu metal sounds like The Jackson 5 compared to this.

The vocals are so heavy and the lyrics deal with social and political issues so it's a winner.
