Lividity - Used, Abused, And Left For Dead

Epitomite, 2006, CD

What they did here since their last release is improved the playing.

Before it was like this primitive thrash/gore sound with basic song structures and riffs. It was laughable and awesome in a way. They had a groove but it was all mid-paced and shambolic with this fuzzzy guitar and those sick vocals like some pigs head being regurgitated through someone's ass.

Now they improved the riffs and guitar licks and the drumming and made the songs more complex. Overall the pace is faster and the production is better. It's up there with the more technical bands.

There are actually a lot more of these bands than anyone in ordered, mainstream society could have ever imagined in their worst nightmares.

There is a whole genre of just gore bands, not even death or grind. Just gore.

The best thing about Lividity though are the vocals. It's a dual vocal attack of course but the main guy sounds like he is guzzling down guts and excrement, hoovering it all up and then swilling it round and spewing it out again, all at the same time singing about decaying human bodies.

I mean one song is hilariously called "Hero Of Dementia". Like what is that about? Some guy recovered from Dementia and is now a hero? You can only begin to guess.
