God Forbid - IV: Constitution Of Treason

Century Media, 2005, CD, Vinyl

When I saw God Forbid in 99 or 2000 it was clear that they could play their instruments. They had this dual guitar attack that fucking ruled.

I only got hold of this recently and it sounds similar to how I remember them. The dual guitar attack is still there with synchronised solos and other treats. It's so precise and skillful how they play with a good clear production. They made a good modern metal album in this concept of some new society that goes through an apocalypse, genesis and reconstruction. Any metal fans will get something from this. Although it has the technicality that far surpasses other bands in this genre it doesn't have the hooks or immediacy of a band such as As I Lay Dying which means that it probably didn't pull in more fans, which is a shame because they are hugely talented.
