Malevolent Creation - Retrospective

Crash, 2005, CD

Some people felt that it wasn't right that they were releasing their 4th compliation of tracks or something like that with this release on Crash Music. This is from their later stuff after 1995, 68 minutes of quality death metal. Before that they had some classic releases on Roadrunner.

Is it good? It's pretty awesome yes, everything considered. I'm not into this vocal style which sometimes just sounds ridiculous even though it is impressive. It sounds like someone leading some medieval brutes into a battle. This is what puts people off these bands when they first hear them and is why so many of these filthy deathcore fashioncore bands came about that bridged the gap and made death metal sound cool. Now everyone is into this, whole families sitting round listening death-metal inspired records at Christmas probably.

Anyway, who cares about that... the music kills everything with insanely fast tremolo riffs and double bass drumming, sick solos and evil sounding lead riffs. I guess after a couple of decades they really started to rule when it came to making this stuff. The production is sick as well of course.
