Putrid Pile - Collection Of Butchery

Crash, 2003, CD

My mum knows about some of this music. Recently I played her some death metal and she could get it a bit. "It's a bit like 80s metal", "It has a tune to it". But then I put on Putrid Pile. She didn't get any of it after that.

So this is like that kind of death metal where they took it to a new level of sickness and brutality. They went a bit too far even.

The whole thing is done by 1 guy who "sings", plays guitar and bass and has a drum machine for the percussion. The mix and production is good if you can get over the drum machine business, better than the Lividity record anyway. It all sounds the same and so there is no point talking about each song. It's just sick death/thrash mostly mid-paced, with some breakdowns, no solos or instrumentals.

The vocals sound like they got a severed pigs head and made it talk into a mic somehow.

The lyrics are the usual business about chopping up dead bodies and being "covered in excrement". Probably some folks are going to get it just for that.
