Planes Mistaken For Stars - Fuck With Fire

No Idea, 2001, CD, Vinyl, Coloured Vinyl

This fucking rules. It gives me this feeling of starlight desperation, wandering round in a bad state because of some bad thing happening, but happy anyway because you feel invincible. I knew it would be good when I saw the cover because it looks like some representation of the divine mother. No Idea used to put out some good records at one time, I don't know what they are doing now.

I don't know how to explain what this sounds like. It's some kind of rocking melodic punk but nothing like all the stuff that everyone got shovelled with in the 90s. It reminds me of this band from the UK called Leatherface. It has melody but not over the top as it's laced together with dischordant punk rock rhythms and some off-kilter riffs and these gruff lo-key vocals.
