Poolside At The Flamingo - This Will End Badly

Epitomite, 2010, CD, Vinyl

What a sound. Like all my birthdays at once in some chaotic, shambolic grind horror. It doesn't get much better than this. The name of the band told me before I put it on that it would be the best thing in the miserable looking collection of death and grind that was sat in a big column on my shelf, unopened, unlistened. I mean, what a name, you can't get more mentalised and off kilter.

The "songs" oscillate between diabolical, unhinged math grind frenzies and slowed down, sickened sludgefests. It ends up withering the listener into realising the greatness of what is on offer here. It becomes obvious that this is some powerhouse of insanity and grind delight. It's about 10 times better than all the other shit I have heard in the last year.

If you ever wanted to clear out a room of family members that had overstayed their welcome, you could just throw this on and hand them the sleeve to look at
